4 Day Intro / Advanced Workshop for Riders & Trainers – Bruton
10-13 April 2012
Effective Training through the Way Of The Horse
It’s not what you do, it’s the way that you do it!
Many accomplished horsemen have skills they take for granted, which they assume are common sense! To be an effective trainer requires calm, confident and congruent leadership, and an ability to be a sensitive partner in the relationship.
Horses pick up on our intentions, feelings, emotions, levels of energy and assertiveness. They don’t respond well to trainers who are stressed, off balance or wearing a mask of happiness when they are actually feeling angry, frustrated, frightened or vulnerable.
Neither horses nor people respond well to dominant / aggressive training methods any more than they do to weak / passive training. Yet to find the balance and to become a calm, centred and congruent trainer is often an acquired art and one of which horses are our best teachers!
In this 4 day workshop you will hone your skills as an effective trainer and leader. As you learn to combine intuitive communication with an understanding of energy patterns you will access a deeper level of connection.
Through creative exercises and reflective and interactive work with the horses, lungeing and horse dancing (a form of synchronised loose schooling) you will begin to develop your most effective way of training.
This workshop offers a way to:
~ develop a willing connection with various horses
~ discover your best way of learning and training

We will explore ways to:
